Description:
Cascade Earth Sciences (CES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Valmont Industries, Inc.,
is seeking a Senior Soil Scientist in either its Bakersfield, California or Boise,
Idaho location. CES is a growing environmental science and engineering services
consulting firm whose focus is natural solutions to water management opportunities.
As a senior soil scientist, you will function as lead scientist on projects employing
land-based natural solutions for industrial and municipal wastewater management and
treatment. Additionally, you will provide leadership in business development to increase
CES’s market share in these technical areas.
You must have the technical expertise in agricultural and environmental soil science required
to assist municipal, industrial, agriculture, and food industry clients with the following:
- permitting and regulatory negotiation
- irrigation scheduling and crop management
- development of wastewater and nutrient management plans
- subsurface discharge of treated effluent with respect to root zone, vadose zone, groundwater
- surface water monitoring and analysis
- byproduct utilization
- vadose zone fate and transport of water and nutrients
Additionally, you will be expected to use your networking and business development skills to
build market share and business with new and existing customers.

Requirements:
- An MS degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or closely related discipline
- Must have 5+ years of agricultural/environmental industry experience
- Must have good writing, spreadsheet (Excel), communication skills, and people skills
- Must be able to participate in business development
- Must have demonstrated organizational skills and strong work ethic
